The Director of Children’s Ministry is a volunteer position that is responsible for scheduling and recruiting Children’s Church & Nursery volunteers, training volunteers, ensuring a safe environment is kept in classrooms, working with volunteers to find replacements, ensuring the classes have the proper curriculum and supplies, planning children’s activities, communicating needs and concerns to leadership, maintaining a healthy atmosphere where volunteers love to serve, and working to continually improve the classroom environment for the children so the vision of supernaturally equipping Kingdom children is not hindered in any way. The Director does not need to teach monthly in the Children’s Church or Nursery but is highly encouraged to serve once a quarter in each. Weekly attendance is necessary to oversee Sunday services.
Estimated Time: 4+ hours a week
The Children’s Church Teacher is a volunteer position that is responsible for teaching children from 5 years old through 5th grade one to two times a month in Children’s Church. Duties include: teaching the given curriculum, leading children in worship, lovingly communicating with children and parents, delegating tasks to assistants, communicating with the director about schedule changes, needs, and concerns, maintaining a safe learning environment, and equipping children to walk boldly in their callings.
Estimated Time: 3-6 hours a month
The Nursery Teacher is a volunteer position that is responsible for serving one time a month in the Nursery with babies and toddlers up to the age of 5. Duties include: playing with children, correcting behaviors healthily, lovingly communicating with children and parents, delegating tasks to assistants, communicating with the director about schedule changes, needs, and concerns, maintaining a safe learning environment, and equipping children to walk boldly in their callings.
