Building Wisely: All Things According to the Pattern

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25.

When I began Repairers of the Breach Emotional Healing Ministry, the Lord spoke to me and said that I needed to check the foundation of the person I was ministering to first before helping them repair their “house”.

The rock in this passage refers to Jesus himself, the chief cornerstone. The foundational stone laid that the rest of the foundation and building is to be patterned after. After ensuring the Jesus is indeed what they are standing on, I was to reinforce their house with the three I’s foundationally.

-Intimacy

-Identity

-Inheritance

The imagery of intimacy throughout scripture is often that of a bridegroom (the Lord) and the bride (us). This type of intimacy as spoken of in the bible is the Hebrew word Yada which is to know or perceive a person but not just have knowledge of them but to experience them. We can say to someone go love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength but without experiencing God, they will never get to a place of intimacy with Him. It must be cultivated through reading and meditating on the word of God, beholding it, prayer, fasting, worship, solitude, journaling, communing/abiding, soaking in His presence and the like. If we draw near to God, He draws near to us (James 4:8) and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

When a person intimately knows God, they get to experience His hesed-covenant love and agape-unconditional love. A person who knows they are loved by God will believe what God says about them in His word-logos and by way of His Spirit-rhema. Their identity will be transformed as they behold the Christ going from one greater measure of glory to another as He becomes more fully formed within them with the outworking of His nature, the fruit of the Spirit. Truth will saturate their inward parts with an understanding that they were created in love before they were ever born and predestined to be holy and blameless through Jesus. (Ephesians 1:4-6)

A person who knows who they and whose they are, which is a child of the Most High, adopted, seated in heavenly places and accepted into the Beloved will confidently walk in their God given authority within the earth and expand the kingdom as His ambassador fulfilling the ministry of Jesus, Isaiah 61. They will reflect His love and His nature, seeking and saving the lost and setting captives free. (Romans 8:15, Ephesians 2:6, 2 Corinthians 5:20)

A wise builder builds only on a solid foundation. Once the foundation has proven to be sound, we can move forward with the repairing of the breaches. This is a house that will remain standing.
