Outrageous Love: It’s His Nature

“…not that we loved God, but that He loved us…”

1 John 4:10

I was listening to a sermon a few weeks ago.  It was nothing new or something I hadn’t heard before, but I heard it differently. I’m sure you’ve heard it said that God created us to worship Him. I’m not saying that isn’t true, but as I listened, the speaker said we are made to be loved by God.  When we wake up in the morning, it’s not, “How can I worship you today? What can I do for you today” but when we wake up in the morning, it’s “I’m loved.” He does not measure our ministry duties by what we do but by how we love.  And we love because He first loved us.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭7‬-‭10‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Graham Cooke released this prophetic word: “The Lord says there is nothing you can do to make him love you more.  There is also nothing you can do that would make him love you less.  He loves you because he loves you because he loves you because he loves you because he loves you because he loves you because he loves you...  Because that is what he is like.  It is His nature to love. And you will always be the beloved.  And His love is unchanging.  And He loves you 100%.  He won’t love you any better when you become better.  He loves you 100% right now.  And even if you have no plans to become better, He will still love you 100%.  Because He loves you because that's the way that He is…  Because that is His nature.  He loves all the way all the time.  His love is unchanging.  I love you as you are right now. I love you 100% as you are right now in this moment.  I love you as you are, so be loved.  You are the beloved.  It is your job, says the Lord, to be loved outrageously. “

It is your job to be loved outrageously.  Let that set in.  If we could wrap our hearts and minds around that one thing, how much more would that change our worship, how much more would that change our intercession, how much more would that change our evangelism with the mindset of, “I was created to be loved?”

I encourage you to add this to your daily affirmations, “I am created to be loved!  My job is to be loved outrageously by God!”
