And The Wisemen Worshipped

“When Herod secretly called the magi and determined from them the exact time the star

appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the

Child; and when you have found Him, report to me, so that I too may come and worship

Him.” After hearing the king, they went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the

east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was.

When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. After coming into the

house, they saw the Child with Mar,y His mother; and they fell to the ground and

worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold,

frankincense, and myrrh. And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to

Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way.”

Matthew 2:7-12

When I was in worship recently, the Lord took me to Matthew 2:7. While I looked it up

and read over the passage, the Father started to say, “look what the enemy wanted for

evil; I took for good” (Romans 8:28). The enemy funded the Wisemen to spy on the child

that was born and even gave the Wise Men gifts to give. Let’s not forget who these wise

men were; they were sorcerers. They used astrology, spells, etc., to tell the future. I

encourage you to return to Sunday, December 15th’s service, as Andrea spoke briefly

about the magi. As they visited the child, the Father encountered them in a dream and

told them not to return to Herod and provide information.

How many times have we started down the wrong path, and the Father sends a dream

or person into our lives so that we can see His plan and expose the enemy? Once the

Wisemen got there, they honored Jesus by giving gifts, but they also received a gift.

They met Jesus and felt the Father's love from His son. They saw a light that they had

not seen before.

Once they had encountered baby Jesus, they left for their own countries. They had to

bring this experience back to their people. How amazing that they, once deceived, were

chosen to spread the word of the Messiah and his love to the people.

In this coming Christmas season, we must know that the enemy will try to mess things

up. But the Father will turn these relationships or circumstances back to good. It's time

for us to be the light in the dark places.
